RARE CASE PRESENTATION… Spinal Facet Synovial Cyst

35 year old maid C/O back pain radiating to right leg not responding to physio and rest

MRI suggestive of synovial cyst compressing nerve roots

After proper assessment and counselling PT underwent synovial cyst excision, decompression and instrumentation. Post op she recovered well and resumed job after 3 months

* synovial cysts usually arises from facet joint capsule and impinges spinal cord. CT may help to decompress but there is risk of recurrence. Complete cyst excision may need to partially sacrifice facet. In such scenario requires instrumentation and fusion.
