Spinal Tuberculosis : unusual presentation

Unusual Scenario:

Young male complaining of back pain with claudication symptoms with difficulty standing or walking even for 5 min

MRI suggestive of L4/5 infective spondylodiscitis.

We performed L4/5 spinal decompression.

Histopath was suggestive of tuberculosis

Comments:

L4/5 is unusual location for spinal tuberculosis. Also patient didn’t have any constitutional symptoms.

He had claudication symptoms, we see in spinal stenosis.

He did well post decompression and Anti tuberculosis drugs
